Few places capture coastal elegance quite like OceanCliff in Newport, Rhode Island, and Casey & Mac’s summer wedding was a true showcase of timeless New England romance. From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted by ocean views, blue skies, and most memorably hydrangeas in every shade of blue and white.
Ceremony with a View
The ceremony overlooked the ocean, with sailboats passing in the background as Casey and Mac said “I do.” A stunning altar of white and blue hydrangeas designed by @plantgirlfloral framed the couple perfectly. With around 100 guests gathered, the setting was both relaxed and unforgettable - classic Newport at its best.
Cocktail Hour with a View
After the ceremony, guests flowed onto the tented balcony for a coastal-chic cocktail hour. Fresh oyster and shrimp boats, signature cocktails, and passed hors d’oeuvres set the tone for a relaxed yet elegant evening. The bride and groom mingled with guests during golden hour, taking in the sunset over Narragansett Bay before the celebration moved indoors.
The Grand Entrance: Hydrangea Installations
As the reception began, guests entered through two towering hydrangea installations framing the ballroom doors. A striking hydrangea seating chart guided each person to their place, the first glimpse of what would soon be known as “hydrangea heaven.”

Inside, every detail of the ballroom carried the couple’s white and navy palette. Each table featured a hydrangea centerpiece — some soaring in tall glass vases with cascading white blooms, others with lush clusters of classic blue hydrangeas.
The head table and sibling tables were draped in hydrangeas flowing down either side, giving the illusion of blooms spilling right onto the floor. At the center of it all was a blue-and-white checkered dance floor, with a custom hydrangea installation suspended above. (Yes, they even cleared it with the fire marshal to make it happen!)
